Canadian businesses aren’t working on their online real estate- it’s been in the news. As a result Canadian SEO firms are not booming as they should. Small and Medium Businesses aren’t investing in themselves and there aren’t enough enterprise companies out there to make up for it all. Why? They say that it’s metrics- A TV spot is measurable and has a dollar value- a good rank on Google does not. Major problem with this- Old media is NOT measurable like online. So- what’s the REAL reason? Ad agencies sell themselves better than online marketing firms. The agency guy will sell you a TV spot that costs 10 times as much, gets you an imperceptible amount of business and you can never prove that your clients saw the ad… but he WILL sell you on it. SEO firms in Canada need to get the word out. We’re cheaper, more measurable, and we’re the future. If an SEO company with a superior product fails to get the word out- does it deserve to live?
